Fuck yes, I just ordered a D2 for my girlfriend. It looks utterly fantastic! Plus their software is very good, even better than itunes, winamp, and foobar. Its got support for every fucking codec in the universe.

Got an X5 20GB model, that thinkg is the best MP3 player I have ever heard and the ease of use is flawless and unparelelled in my experience and opinion!

I think I might be buying one of these A3's for Christmas. My iPod is being a complete pain in the ass.

Does look pretty good.. too bad it doesn't support stereo bluetooth though! That would be awesome.

except price and size
(looks like it can't play 720p h264-encoded video either... )

How many people do you know actually would use that? The Q5w does support it I believe.

So you want a SMALLER player to be able to display 720p high-def video?

I don't think you have any idea waht you are talking about. This is a portable mp3 player not a HD tv for your living room.

The price is lower than all other comparable players.

The size is fine. Fits the screen well.

It's got a big bezel around the whole screen, and a really big one where the controls are. I think they could've stuck the controls on the side, gotten rid of the bezel, and make it much more pocketable while having the same big screen.
I think they advertise 720p playback, but almost all the 720p content I've seen on the net is in H264 or WMV, neither of which it seems to play, so its a bit of a useless feature unless you want to manually transcode it into MPEG4...

I have an HDTV too, and I don't want to download 2 versions of the same show, or reencode them. It'd be a hell of a lot more convenient if I could play the same file on both the portable player and my laptop hooked up to my HDTV.
Isn't the retail price on those things in the $600 range? I think thats what I read when they first announced these things. Can't find them for sale anywhere yet.

$400. And that's for the 60G version.

Ah, ok. That's not a bad price. A bit more than my Archos 605 but at least Cowon doesn't nickel and dime you for every feature.

If more people were familiar with it I'm sure more people would use it. I like the fact I can listen to music without the cord getting caught on something. Even when I run my iPod under my shirt and into my pants pocket it will get caught on my cell and pull on the headphones. It's really annoying!
