Crate Blue Voodoo - can it do metal?

I had a bv-50h back in the day never could get it over the top without a boost I think I put a sansamp gt-2 in front of it nice reverb!
 
I had a BV-120 (second generation) head and it could do metal. I had a cable running from the FX send to the return to give it an internal boost (can be done with any head). It won't get a super saturated Engl/Boogie tone though, but it is definitely capable of decent metal tones. Only problem is Crate boards are absolute junk. Very brittle and prone to problems, which sucks because I actually like the BVs.
 
I hated it and then I went to a guitar clinic put on by Marty Friedman and he sounded incredible.


You can pick those up fairly cheap and get Trace at voodoo amps to mod it for you

tone is in your hands, A friend of mine had one it sounded pretty good :confused:
