Creamback or V-Type?

I have a Marshall vertical 2x12 and going to throw two of the Neo Celestions in there which will be an improvement over the Seventy 80 speakers and will shave off about 8 pounds from the cab.

They have the Creamback and the V-Type Neo speakers. I was thinking of doing one of each rather than two Creambacks or two V-Type. What do you think?

Well in a strange twist, i opened up the cab and doesn't even have Seventy 80 speakers. Whoever owned this, put in a G12 H and a G12-65.

That’s a score right there!
Should I just keep these speakers? Id like to take some weight off and get speakers more suited for hard rock but the cab is ok.

The Neo speakers have 8 mounting holes versus 4. Do I need to have the same?

As long as holes line up, 4 is plenty. At least, in the videos I watch. 😉

I would do what you already have your mind set on, which is lighter speakers. But at least you have some cool speakers you can keep when you’re in the mood for another flavor or you could easily sell those as they are both desirable speakers.
