Any of you guys use any of these companies like emperor, atlas, worshipper, Titan? Feedback on them? Any other recommendations I haven’t even heard of?

I was just going to buy another cab, and empty it out, then replace the speakers with dv-77s. But, it seems like by the time I do that with a big brand cabinet, even used, it’s more expensive than getting a custom build.

If one of you guys here already has one that wants to sell me it, of course, let me know.

I have had good experience with Reggie at RawCabs on Ebay.

He made this headshell cab for my Ceriatone BE-50

I didn't care for the Emperor cab I had. Just seemed strangely dark for no discernible reason. I had it second hand with V30s, not custom built for me. I know the 6x12s are constructed/wired in a stupid way too though. On the cheaper side I've had a number of Avatar cabs that have served me well.

Yeah maybe the size gave too much low mids.

I know from personal experience that Guitar Cabinets Direct, in North Carolina, does not return emails or communicate with customers.
I have been trying for two weeks, on several different platforms (their website, direct emails, messaging, FaceBook, Reverb, etc), and they do not respond at all, which is a shame, because they used to have a great reputation.
That sucks!

AGREED !!

Not a great business model, and could probably double their business with just a shred of courtesy.
It’s pretty mind blowing how bad some of these small companies operate that totally have potential to blow up. Customer service and being responsive is literally how you get customers lol.

EDIT:
I am only looking for a simple 100 watt Marshall Style head cabinet.
Nothing customized, or extreme, and probably something that they make daily.

I asked 2 simple questions, that could collectively be answered in 5 seconds.....and that would include hitting the "Reply" button......
That’s unfortunate. I have one of their 4x12s that is hot out against @LPMojoGL ’s vintage g12-65 cab. Their cab are great in my opinion. I’m don’t recall corresponding with them.

I’ve had dozens of cabs. My Avatar is right up there with the best.

That's really odd as I have maybe 7+ head shells from them and have never had a problem getting a response from KC. I haven't tried to talk to them since September but always got a response back within 24 hours.

Yep I have one of their 1960 cabs loaded with G12C’s currently. It’s a great sounding cab.

I've got one of these and it's great. Wider than a normal 2x12, so very full-bodied sound. It looks like slant cab, but the baffle is straight, and just angled so it projects more upward like a slant cab would, while keeping the speakers parallel like a straight cab.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy a 4x12 or any of their other cabs. The construction is rock solid.

I live in NC and for a headshell I would go sourmash all day instead of the local guys except splawn.

Personally I would just order a 4x12 from KSR with the DV-77. They build a lot of cabs for a lot of different companies(wizard, metropolis..) Kyle ships then with casters which a lot of companies charge extra for not to mention any cosmetics that you want. Cabs have a shitty resale value and going to some obscure brand will make it hard to sell if you ever do want to sell it. Having said that a splawn cab can be had relatively cheap. My only complaint is the one I had the tolex tore up pretty easy compared to other brands I've used over the years.

I had my eye on Omega cabs for a while now. If you were after the Mick Thompson speakers, I would go that route. Some say they like the Omega speakers better. I haven't tried them myself. Still kicking tires.

I do, however, have a Splawn cab with their Small Block speakers, and it rules. You could do a lot worse, but I'm not sure you can do much better.

I bought both Emperor 212SS and 412SS a couple years ago. The 212 sounded pretty shitty IMO and I sold it. The 412 has been a keeper and is MUCH better. At the moment I have it loaded with Redbacks and Creamback 65's X pattern and it sounds pretty nasty. Well built and fairly balanced, though it's a little harsh at times.

This year I bought a Stoneage 412B and damn, it's easily the most well built cab I've ever seen. It sounds killer too, and I would say clearer than the Emperor with more mid hump but not harsh. I can definitely recommend either builder.

I was going to say Stoneage. They're reputed to be the best Marshall-style cabs out there.

Kerry Wright cabs are supposed to be top notch as well: https://www.lavintagegear.com/produ...-cabinets-2/kerry-wright-tribute-series-cabs/

Yeah, I had thought about that. But ordering from omega currently seems like good as anyone’s guess when they’re going to get back to pumping stuff out.

Man, I hadn’t even thought of KSR! Thanks for the suggestion. Splawn was another I just spaced, even though I love their amps.
