Hi all,

I've just gt my hands on a D Moll to help me make my move into Midi of which I'm a complete newb. I've got my Columbus switching channels and switching the loop on etc but can I store different settings for the same channel. For example 01 on the Columbus is clean on channel 1 but then I want 02 to be the clean channel with the gain on full but still on channel 1, is this possible or can the Columbus only change the amps channels not recall eqs, gain settings etc?

Thanks

Phil

It will only control program changes. It cannot recall EQ settings. What you do though is set channel one up with the FX loop on-off, mid-cut on/off, master 2 on/off, then the same for channel 2 and channel 3. To do this, pick a number on the Columbus, set the amp up, flip the mute switch twice. Viola. Proceed to the next setting. Set up a mute setting as well for tuning or standby.

I have a midi related question too.
The D-Moll site says the 2 FX Loops are Midi switchable, can they be indepantly toggled?
Can I have for instance:
Program 1 = Ch1 + Serial Loop ON, Parallel OFF
Program 2 = Ch1 + Serial Loop OFF, Parallel ON

If this is possible, how do you select the individual loops?
There is only 1 Loop Switch, does it toggle from None, Serial, Parallel, Both?

Thanks

My guess, looking at the front panel, is that you can only switch both loops in & out simultaneously. That loop switch only appears to be a yes/no switch. Forgive me if i'm talking shit here.

If you're using a multi FX box like a G-Major, you will of course be able to midi-out of the amp & change patch settings on the FX unit. Rather than toggling the FX loop on or off, you can toggle the FX of the unit on or off with the midi program changes.

Another idea is to have some sort of true-bypass looper pedal. You'd have to press two switches still, but you'd be able to bring your effects in and out of the loop without midi-changing the loop on/off on the amp.
