Is the D-Moll voiced closer to the Herbert or the VH4 on the 2nd channel?

Is it possible to get something similar to VH4's 3rd channel out of the D-Moll?

Does anybody have both amps or all three?

PS: I haven't played a VH4 in years...

D-Moll is similar to the Einstein with full MIDI functionality and similar clean. The midcut feature is what brings it closer to the Herbert. I've not heard anyone mention that the D-Moll does VH4 very well or at all. I think it does:
Herbert/Einstein like cleans.
Einstein/Herbert/VH4 Ch.2 crunch.
Herbert-like Ch.2(+) high gain.

Hope this helps.

PS: Check out the video that was posted here last week - it's a good run through, albeit in German, you get the drift of what this amp is capable of.

Thanks!

I know the D Moll quite well, but I don't know the other amps well.
That's why I'm asking.
I think that the video makes the amp sound quite a bit darker than it is.

To my ears, the dmoll is closer to a herb/hagen, more "modern", and while you get a lot of dynamic possibilities on dmoll's ch2 tone and gain are different from the vh4 ch3; much like e.g. the hagen got its own thing going on too. I don't think it could really do the vh4's ch3, it does have a different voicing, more (good) "sizzle". And I think the dmoll's clean and lowgain is pretty close to the hagen and far from the vh4 "hifi" or herb "piano" cleans.

I don't find the dmoll dark at all, quite on the contrary.

D-Moll is far from being a dark-voiced amp. It most definitely reminds of Herbert. I wouldn't say there are similarities with VH4. However, it's not close to Hagen too. Herbert is what it gravitates towards. It has its own thing and it really does it well.

That demo of Session is nowhere near to what the amp really sounds like. It actually is focused and punchy not like in their clip. In fact, none of their Diezel demos sound right to me. I am surprised people find similarities with the actual amp sound. One should do themselves a favour and go try a Diezel themselves to know what it's like to stand in front of the cab. :)

From the one good clip I heard, it sounds like a Herbert in a 100 watt version. I don't hear any VH4 in it and for sure no Hagen.

I may be mistaken, but I will let you know for sure in a week or so....
