DAMN: the preamp tubes sure matter in the seminar head

V2 - Sovtek 12AX7WA
V3 - Shuguang 9th G
V4 - Shuguang 9th G


I found the sovtek 12ax7Wa adds complexity in V2, but zoinked my tone @ the PI in V3.

It's very sensitive to Premap tube changes, for sure.

I dont have a manual. Which order are they in looking at the back of the amp?
is it left to right.....

V1 V2 V3 V4 PT PT ?

If so i have

V1- tong sol V2-tong Sol V3- jjexx83s V3- jjxx8s PT Ruby- EL34BHT PT Ruby- EL34BHT

I didnt like the Tong sol el34B for power tubes but thye sound awesome in my Mod50

I think maybe YOU'RE a little sensitive to preamp tube changes. Better grab some aluminum foil.

I think maybe YOU'RE a little sensitive to preamp tube changes. Better grab some aluminum foil.

V1 = furthest from power tubes.

power tubes = Sovtek 6550's.
