You probably want to make sure there is a load on the amp, even if no volume is being used on that side, unless either Peter or the manual says otherwise...
I believe you can not do this. You have two tube amps in one, when the stand by is flipped off you should have BOTH amps plugged into a load. That is the drawback of the VH4s, you HAVE to have a stereo cab to plug BOTH sides into ALWAYS.
Once you turn the amp off standby...even if it's turned down...BOTH SIDES need a reactive load (aka speaker...load box...SOMETHING). DO NOT just leave one side unplugged. You will fry your output transformer doing that.
me too, i think that's dangerous... but it seems that Peter had already told me that's not dangerous ... but i'm not sure
I have two stereo cabs, but sometimes i don't play with my cabinet on stage and i have to play in mono. I will buy a torpedo live very soon and i have to use it in mono .... So i have to know if it's safe for my stereo toy
Sounds like you need to buy an attenuator to use just as a dummy load box to properly shut down one side of the amp, or you might want to consider selling/trading it for a VH4.
