Dave Friedman Modded Modules

I think the general consensus is that Dave's mods sound fantastic and bring the Randall modules up to Egnater quality in tone. I agree that I dont think the Egnater modules need anything, but if they did, Id just ask Bruce to do it. But, for the Randall modules, apparently they make a big difference. Theres another guy named Pete that posts at Grailtone under the handle okstrat that supposedly does great work on Randall modules too.

Apparently Dave did mods to a bunch of Brad Delson's Randall modules so his MTS gear on the road can cover all the tones he got on the new Linkin Park record. Id be intereted in hearing them live. Though Im not sure I care that much about LPs actual music!
 
Ya the Randalls perform better if tweaked to Eggy specs..thats what I did to all my Randall modules...now they sound great..the Ultra is the closest to a SLO and the XTC is now just great!
 
Ah! Wish Id known! My Vx module might be up for grabs. The A channel breaks up too early for me and I cant really use it as my clean channel. It sounds great though, just doesnt fit what I need. Im sure you'll like it. Its sounds like a Vox! Eh, maybe Ill keep it for recording....

Matt, pretty sure we can fix the break up issue you are having on channel A. I will call you later today...I am on a mission to find Northern rock Maple for guitar tops today. I will be sitting in a warehouse all day grading wood for tops!
