Here's a Megadeth/original song clip of me playing the beast. NO processing aside from a highpass and lowpass on the mixer:

It is EVERYTHING I love about a Marshall and NOTHING I hate about them.

I posted this in the Dave Friedman section as well, but I think more of you guys will hear it here.

link no workie

That sounds EPIC!

wow, very nice. what is your signal chain and mics?

Thanks for the kind words

I don't process guitars.

Maxon OD-820 pro->Windsor->Mesa Recto 4x12-> Two SM57s in fredman micing position.

HP and LP only.

Man that is seriously one of the best sounding clips I have heard in a while dude. How much of the Maxon is bringing the sound versus the Windsor. Seems like a good economical way to get a great tone, buy a cheaper windsor and have it modded. I wonder if Dave remembers what he did to this.

Thank you so much. I'm really glad you're enjoying my work. I'm working on providing premium reamping service with some of the best tones around ;)

The mods, tubes, and transformers, as well as the amp purchase, ran this up to around $2000 dollars.

It also has to do a lot with this particular player being quite talented, my familiarity with my micing positions and the cabinet, as well as some good old fashioned tweaking.

I doubt there will be any Windsor in the world that ever sounds like this one.

Do you have any clips with no pedals ?
..... guitar / amp / cab .... and nothing else ?

I think a boost is necessary to get this amp in death metal category, but I could make one without a boost in a week or so. I'm currently up to my elbows in work.

Thanx ...
No hurry .... I would just like to hear the amp you know.
..... and like said above that sounds killer.

Killer clip, killer player. Sounds like he's really into Nevermore

I'm gonna have to try that fredman method when I record next. I've never really liked the sound of a 57 on a cab, but your clips are swaying my opinion.

That's just ridiculous. Love the Friedman tone. It's definitely the biggest baddest mofo. Sick tune as well.

That was awesome! Loved it!

Can you do the same with a little more body?

If I needed to, yes. I was quite happy with how the guitars left a good amount of space for drums and bass; it definitely wasn't necessary to make them any chunkier to make them suit the mix.

Thank you, gents.

That has to be the most expensive windsor in the history of they amp, sounds great though
