Hello everyone!

I'm looking for a 1x12" Diezel with Hempcones for my Diezel Schmidt Head. It's hard to find them though, even here in Germany. Does anyone know where to buy, price, etc.
I'd also appreciate some statements on sound. I play mostly jazz/blues stuff, no heavy sound necessary. I dig my open back 2x12" V30, but I am looking for something even more light and a bit smoother in terms of sound.
Diezel himself (or one of his handymen ;))has not yet responded to my email, if he does I'll let you know if someones also interested. It appears to me as if most Diezel aficionados seem not to care about 1x12"s, why is that  ;) ?

Vielleicht kann mir jemand helfen?

Kind regards, Jens

I didnt know there was a 1x12 and it is closed back front ported at that! I want one!

they released their 1x12 to suit the Einstein better. i bought mine from tone merchants @ $300, and i believe it was their last one... mine is open backed... cant remember if it was rear or front loaded, but it sounds phenomenal. i was unaware of the closed back/ported cab, i guess that has replaced the one i have.

I recently sent an email to Diezel asking about the 1x12 cab, and have been told that they are currently no longer in production, but will most likely be again somwhere later this year.

I bet there wasn't much interest in 1x12"s, although the Schmidt I think has introduced Diezel to a new audience (me for example, except probably the Einstein, the whole Diezel style and sound had never fitted my needs). Although the Schmidt is also a great rock'n roll amp, its great clean and crunch sounds attract especially jazz and blues players who often prefer smaller cabinets.

I hope that if they come back they'll be available with a smaller logo on the left hand corner, like the one on the Schmidt

Any experiences with open back hempcone cabs?

Jens

I'd be interested in the 1x12 as well. Looking forward to it coming back!

*up* Probably someone knows more about the 1x12"s re-release?

Regards,

Jens

I had a 50w Einy with a Diezel 1x12 cab that I sold. The cab had a V30 and was ported/closed back design. It was a nice setup but I just couldnt warm up to it. I was comparing that setup to a Suhr PT prototype with a Badger 1x12. The Bogner,Diezel and Suhr 1x12's are all very close in design with the Diezel being the largest to fit the Einy on top. The Badger 1x12 was designed to fit the Badger on top.... same idea, but a bit smaller.

I actually really like the 1x12 cabs... I am going to get another Badger 1x12 to run (2) 1x12's with my PT prototype. I have been running (2) 2x12 cabs... 1 on each side of my rehersal room and it fills very nicely... the same will go for the 1x12 on each side of the stage. (1) gets mic'd anyways..

FWIW Diezel should reissue the 1x12's... it would be a great WDW setup with a Diezel 2x12 in the middle and still be portable..

Thanks, Matt

Hi! It's been a while, but I heard rumours about Diezel redesigning their 1x12"s. Any news on that, as I would love to check out my Schmidt on one of those.

Hope we'll see and hear them this year!

Jens

There is no 1x12 cab on the 2011 official Diezel price list.

Jens - I don't know if I told you before but you might contact Stefan Puntke as he is having one loaded with a hempcone at his workshop - great sounding cabinet for the Schmidt

You told me about Stefan, but I have to hear it first, and actually I don't have the time to do so. My local dealer http://www.gitarren-studio-neustadt.de/ doesn't have them. But someone here told me that they are working on a redesign, so I might want to wait for it. Probably in white ;). I still don't get why they don't make a Schmidt combo, the concept speaks for it imho.
