Hey Crew. A while ago I started a thread on the general forum titled, Great gear, shitty monitor sounds. Sending the signal from my VH4 up front through the wedges live just flat out sucks and is no where near the representation of what is coming out of my rig.

My idea....use my 2x12 as a monitor/wedge. What I would like to do is control the volume coming to the 2x12. Is there something I could use in the chain? Amp/speaker out into "________" then to the 2x12. As always you guys are the best and I look forward to your replies. on!

Load plate with variable db pad, that is if you play loud. Load plate to 2x12 in one of the 2x8 or 2x4 inputs and the other attached to a cab without load plate. Why you would need such a thing for reference purpose I dunno, but to each his own.

So I tried this last night without the load plate connected just a 30ft speaker cable out of the 4 to the front of the stage where my 2x12 sat slanted up towards me off to the side and it worked like an F'n charm.

The 2x12 has a Vintage 30 and 65 creamback. The 4x12 has a mix of V30's and 75 watt celestions. There was about a 3 ft radius where the sweet spot was soooo good. Helped with the monitor mix since we were not pumping the signal through the front wedges.
