Hey Crew!

So who is using the 2x12 cab with their rigs? I have the Diezel 4x loaded with Celestion 75 & 30's in an X pattern and love it with my VH4. I want to ad the 2x so I am reaching out to you guys/gals on what you have. On another note, if anyone is looking to unload one I would definitely be interested. Thanks in advance for your answers and  on!

Full on Diezel Rig in the works :D All you need now is the T-shirt Todd

At the Musikmesse I tried all cabs and most combinations and my favorite was the FL2x12 with V30s. It just had the right contours to compliment the mid-range of all the Diezel high-gainers. It sounds really nice!

Since I've only got this one setup, and have't got a clue how it sounds with an original Diezel 4x12" (Or for that matter, any 4x12")
I probably can't fully comment on this, but here's my experience:

Short version,
Diezel Einstein + 2x12" Celestion V30 closed cab = A heck of a sound
Add 2x12" Celestion V30 (or maybe Celestion Greenback) open back cab = Perfection

Long version,
I got a cheap 2x12" closed cab with Celestion V30 elements.

The sound combined to an Einstein, is awesome!
The bass-mid range is thoroughly and utterly covered in it's every nuance. Mid-high tone has a lot of things going on, but lacks a tad of 'brilliance'.
The only thing I'm thinking to add now, is a similar 2x12", with an open back.

I Once had the chance to connect an Orange openback combo amp, as a 2x12" speaker cab, and the sound was awesome with the set up.
(We also tried it the other way around, by connecting the closed cab as an extra speaker to the Orange combo, but the sound was a bit too 'muffled'.)

As a final note, the 2x12's are a bit harder to set up at a band practice, versus a 4x12" slanted cab. (I'm also hoping the open back cab would help here)
But then again, they are that much easier and lighter to move when needed, your bandmates will appreciate that :)

There was a hat on ebay I actually bid on, yes I am one of those weirdo's :D ! I just cannot get enough of this amp. I really love the way my SLP sounds with my 4x that has Creambacks plus my marshall 1936 (selling soon) 2x. Just a great combination. So after all of that I want to do the same with my Diezel rig  !

I am having a difficult time convincing myself to unload over a grand for a new 2x. Rez, you have been searching for 3 years???? Whew! I found one on C-list but I don't know, dude or gal was very aggressive. They said Pay now I will ship in a couple of hours  . That did not pass the smell test so I bowed out.

I have a rear load/closed back 2X12 for my Hagen. It has a V30 and a Greenback. I think this works really well for all of the tonal possibilities the Hagen has on tap.

I would love to try a FL with G12K100's!

I have a 2x12 Front Loaded Cab with V30's and it's just killer with my herbie !! Even though I love it, sometimes I ask myself why I didnt get the real deal, the 4x12 (it was 500$ more here... ) Surely, the 2x12 does sound BEASTLY and it's LOUD enough

Hope everyone's having a great summer, I don't post as much anymore

After trying all the cabs/combinations I must say, that if had the choice between the FL4x12 or FL2x12, even for the same price, I'd get the 2x12. To my ears it is the best sounding cab. If you want the extra low-end (which you don't need in a band with a bass player) you can add the RL2x12 with V30s. That's a killer combo!

Which is the difference in frond loaded or rear loaded cabs?
I mean in the sound you get.

Lots.

I can't recap all the deets here in this post, but there's GOBS of replies to this very question in both the Diezel forum (this one) as well as the main thread (Rig-Talk). Do a search, you'll have reading for days

Talk about trying to find the sword in the stone.......I found a 2x12 with the salt-n-pepper grill, V30's and I cannot wait!
