I think I'm gonna use my VH4 for gigging but I have a car, so I need a 2X12 for easy transport. Probably go for a Diezel cab for continuity. Front or rear? I'm looking for warm, big, fatness for live only, I don't care how it records.

Does anyone stock these cabs, I've never seen them?

The rear 2x12 isn't much smaller then the 4x12 by the looks of it.

Please take the following comments with a pinch of salt, I'm strictly a beginner!

If you've got time to experiment try a rear hempcone. I have a rear 4x12 hempcone and it's awsome, but the bass gets a bit saggy when you go up into hard rock and metal, but it's got a great response across the frequency range. I use it in conjunction with a fl v30 4x12 which gives the rig all the tight punch it needs for the heavy work.

In this case I would go Diezel Rear Loaded. I will have them shortly.

There are two different hempcone speakers, alnico magnet and ceramic magnet types.
Does Peter prefer a mixture of the two or one specific magnet type over the other?

Mine 4x12" was built with the ceramics I believe, if that's of help.

Diezel uses ceramic magnets, Stephen. Alnico speaker (hempcones) wouldn't stand the power of them . . .

Sorry to hijack, but I talked to a friend of mine yesterday. He's got an Einstein 50 top, and a Mesa fl V30 2x12 - the reason he got that box was because he can put it on the side and the Einstein fits on it. He can't do that with the new Diezel cabs - they're to small - without the amp looking over the edges of the box.
Anyhow, I was wondering if there are any plans on building a cab that will correct that "problem" - I understand that this is pirely cosmetical, but maybe some others would make the switch if there were cabs like that...

There would be no "problem" if he used the cab the right way ;)  No plan to redesign our cabinet line for this type of thing. Changing anything will change the sound and these sound fantastic as they are.

It's my understanding that the 2x12 is wider than the Einstein used "the right way", and not wide enough if used "the wrongway". It's just a suggestion, nothing more. :)

huh? if you turn the 2x12" RL 90° Einstein fits nicely on top.

Aha. Had one, gave it back to Peter.
To me the FL 2x12" only makes sense in combination with a RL cab. But thats me . . .

I thought the new frontloaded 2x12 cab has the same size as the rearloaded 2x12?
