Hi guys, just registerered when i heard abt this forum from a friend. You can actually communicate with the builder himself.Thats cool.

I have a question,I'm planning to get the Diezel VH4 or Herbert on US ebay.
The voltage is 117V.Here my country using 230-240V.

Just wondering is there any tonal difference between Diezel 117V and 230V models?

Maybe 117V brighter sounding?
Any inputs?

You cannot run a 117 V model at 230V and vice versa. The power transformer must fit the input voltage or you need to use a stepup/-down converter in front of the mains jack.

Once driven with the correct voltage: no difference soundwise.

you can also mod the amp. PEter told me you could get a tech do it for ya. Change the power to 240.

I had mine rewired by a tech to 240v. It's a simple cheap conversion. Unlike some brands which need a completly new transformer. It's a great option to have.

I'm interested in this.....care to explain what did he do? I'm gonna need this mode in a year when I take the Einstein with me to America.

I'm not sure what exactly was done. From what I can figure it's just a matter of resoldering/routing the wiring to the required voltage.

Are you guys saying the later Diezel amp models can be rewire for 220-240V operation or only certain models?
