Hey all!

I am really interested in the Einstein 50 watt head. I am looking to be able to switch between stellar clean to thick and heavy high gain and then to a nice fluid lead tone. I could always use an EQ in the loop for leads. Can the Einstein do this? I thought the Einstein was supposed to be more vintage. I have an H&K Switchblade and one thing I like about the high gain is that to my ears it combines vintage with modern, rather than just modern buzz.

I was also interested in the H&K Triamp and the new VHT SIG:X.

However, this Einstein looks nice. One thing I like is to have the ability to switch the effects loop on/off from the floorboard. Anyone know about this amp's floorboard? I could always use a true bypass loop box.

Thanks!

The Einstein was developed to be a vintage style amp without midi. You can rig your pedalboard to go off, as the Einstein does not come with a floor controller, only the channel switching/ master I& II pedals. I have one and just switch off the effects with a bypass switch I have on a Radial Loopbone that connects my effects.
The amp can be set up to have a control box which can switch the modes on channel one and also change to channel two, but I didn't do this as the amp works perfectly fine as it comes.
As for the tones, it still has the Diezel tones on channel two and mode III on channel one. You can get the clean on ch one mode I, and use the channel footswitch that comes with the amp to go to channel two, and master two which I use as a boost switch, myself. If you want two channels of heaviness, you can simply set ch one to mode III and then switch to ch Two and also use master Two footswitch for more boost or distortion.

You should try out the amp in a store, if possible, to see what it can offer you. I have owned a VH4 and now also own a Herbert. I use my Einstein combo 50 watt amp most of the time and it works just fine for me, getting everything I need from it. I play commercial rock and country in a six piece band and have plenty of flexibility with the amp, in it's pure stock form.
