Hi everyone,

I just tried my Herbert and VH4 with a cabinet that has one EVM12L in it (although it is a 2x12, the other speaker was missing) and really liked it. So I started to think about changing the V30s in my FL 4x12 to 4 EVM12Ls. However I am little concerned about the weight of the speakers. Do you think the front baffle can handle the additional weight?

By the way : What do you guys think about the V30 + EVM12L combination?

Have a nice day ;)
Markus

The EVM 12L is 7.3 kilos and the Vintage 30 is 4.7 kilos. I don't think the baffle will be an issue, but the weight will be on your back. :)

The cabinet is made in Germany, so no concerns
about the weight of the EV´s.

Please tell us Your experience with the V30/EV mix.

I have no doubt that the cab can handle the weight...but I doubt you'll want to, no matter how good it sounds.
I have a 2x12 that's loaded with 12Ls, and it scales at around 95 lbs (43kg).

I wouldn't be surprised if a well-made 4x12 with 12Ls would weight over 160lb (73kg).

That's a LOT of weight to move around...even MORE if it's in a roadcase.

on Wednesday i can try a EVM12L loaded cab, i'm already excited how it will sound.

also: does anyone have experiences with Eminence Swamp Thangs? i just thought about buying 2 and mix them with V30s...

I dondt know?! Arent they more for the Marshall stuff? Like the G12H30...one of the best sounding speakers...but only played with marshalls.

Just my two cents.
