Yeah, this rig rips....got to sort out the clips and upload. Coming soon. Here's some pics though. This VH4 came from Peter and with 6550's at my request and a bit of Peter's pixie dust sprinkled in. On previous VH4's, I avoided channel 4. Even though channel 3 is still the money shot, I find myself on channel 4 a lot. But, I am using all 4. Switched with a Columbus with the laser beam blue lighting.

Steve

dBX in channel 3/4 inserts for some heavy gating and a bit of compression for dynamics. BBE Sonic Stomp/Delay/Reverb in the parallel loop. Running though the cab and using the Two Notes Torpedo for DI.

A quote from Jack Nicholson when he played the joker. The scene where he was going release a nerve agent through the floats in the parade. Wooosh! Batman flies in and swoops them all away! The question from the Joker, Where does he get all those neat toys????????? That's for you Steve :D !

Speaking of toys, how awesome are these channel inserts? Peter was really thinking out of the box to design the amp with them, and the serial/parallel loop - all being switchable. This particular VH4 with the 6550's doesn't compress very much at all. I had that dBx266 compressor in the monitor rack that wasn't being used and thought I would try it out on the amp. Not really for compression but more for gating the attack and release on 3 and 4. But just a little compression really tames channel 4's dynamics and a very small bit on channel 3. It works out really well. Running it through the channel inserts is the tits. I ordered another 266 to run in channels 1/2. It's great having total control of the amp and all the peripherals with MIDI, as is the same with most features on Peter's designs.

Also ordered me an amp rack yesterday from Rock Hard Cases. And, I won't say just yet what is inbound from Diezel HQ as we speak :D

Steve........that is just a vision of pure heaven..... :worship:
Great minds think alike....and damn if thats not my next amp.

One of these days Danno....

The thing about the "V" is that it's one of those amps which has already proven its timelessness.

It'll be just as much a masterpiece in 25 years as it was 17 years ago.

Simple.

1st I will disclose this before my question! No one has ever blamed me for being to smart. With that off the table, so on your compressor you are running one side to three and the other to four?

Your quote got jumbled up.......yes, one side going to channel 3 and one to channel 4 insert loops. Using mainly for gating (clamping) the signal the front and back end of the signal and as a limiter to smooth out channel levels.

Steve you should upload a short vid like you did with the D-Moll.

Your vid of the D-Moll is one of the reasons I decided to get one.
