Hi Lee,

is the amp really on omni mode ? No channel
LED lightning ?

Can You check another midi pedal first ?

Thanks,

Peter

hi peter i only have this midi pedal and it works ok with my fx pedals i used it for
yes it went into omni mode and all the lights flashed as per manual! and channel one light is on maybe im missing something?

im not an expert on midi im afraid! i only use the midi on my damage control timeline and seems to work on that but its not working with the herbert , it has 6 dip switches on the back is there a specific channel that the herbert responds to?

just got back from london guitar show and saw james on the diezel stand, plugged my midi board into the herbert he had there and worked straight away, got back home tried mine again and still nothing happening! what else can surely be!

Please see manual. Channel 1 LED should not light.
Master 2, Store, Mídcut and Loop should light,
when You push and hold the mute button.

hi peter tried all of the above and it still does it, ive been into london today and tried my pedal on one of the herberts at the diezel stand and it works fine, the when i hold mute and master two switch all lights are on that should be as in the manual but when i let go channel one goes on or whatever channel was on last previous to the omni mode, it does not store anything i have read the manual and did it in person on the diezel herbert at the london show today with my midi board and it was fine, think the midi chip is faulty??

Like Papa said, if the CH. 1 LED is lit with the mute down it's not in omni mode, but midi channel 2.
Try automatic channel recognition by holding the mute down and pushing buttons on the mid controller.
For Omni mode you need to hold down the mute and press Master 2 and release the mute. If you have done
it correctly the next time you hold down mute the mid cut, Master 2, loop and store LED's will be lit.

Lastly, tell us how your DIP switches are set on the Rolls. If we know that we can help you get into single channel
mode using manual selection.

hi mark thanks, i have also tried this and every method shown in the manual , like i explained i took my pedal down to london to the deizel stand today and it worked like a charm on the herbert there so it is not the pedal and i programmed it to the herbert there in seconds,as exlplained in the manual . channel one is not lighting up now when i hold the mute and v2 down. i think the midi chip isnt working because ive sat here for hours doing it and went to the show and done it in seconds with my midi pedal.

Keep Trying to get it in omni mode. Sometimes you have to do the switching quick.
Also, look at the DIP switches on the Rolls, Determine what channel the pedal is on,
then you could try single channel mode by holding the mute down and selecting the On/off/off etc.

I have never has a Diezel midi chip respond to the front panel button properly and not work with a midi
controller. The are basically sharing the same info, just remotely.

hi mark i have tried this extensively on my herbert, as i mentioned my rolls midi pedal worked fine on the herbert today at the london guitar show, got home tried it on mine and it DOES NOT work, all the dip switches are exactly the same as they were in london when i programmed it to the herbert there. i went to the diezel stand today to make sure i was doing everything right to programme the herbert to my pedal and i was because it worked fine and ive narrowed it down to being something in the amp. the guy i bought it off has assured me it worked fine with the columbus with the other input but never tried the midi input.

James at Diezel UK should be able to sell you a chip if the amp is out of warranty, or arrange a warranty replacement.
Depending on the year of your Herbert they may have to change two tiny capacitors for the newer style chip.

Good Luck.
