Yes sounds good  And the Mic was only a md421? Did you have the chance to compare it with an Audio Technica 4033? I´m still searching a good Mic. Now I´m using a sm57. It´s ok but I´m missing some brillliance.

AWESOME MAN!!!! nice clips!!

And Hartmut....i have recorded my Herbie with about 50 different mics... i really like the 421. Thats @ the top of the list. The ATs sound great also. Just prefer the 421. You should try an Audix I5..its like a 57 with a bit more brilliance..may be the mic you are looking for!!! and save you a few bucks. I got 2 on eBay for like $100.00. Good luck!!

Yes, just a single 421. The 421 & sm7b are my favorite mics for amps, with 421 being flatter & wider and sm7b more forward & cutting. I don't like condensers on amps, with exception of a few clean tones.

Thanks to everybody else!

Sweet nbarts! the only thing I honestly don't dig is the vibrato abuse :gethim: but other than that the playing and tone ROCKS!

I love my 421, It's gonna be all over my record, even on vocals and acoustic guitars

You mean string bending? I can't help it. :)

"Eruption - Progressive Jazz Version" . Good stuff, as are some of your other tests.

Where's the verb coming from?

Steve,

Timefactor was in the loop of the amp. I did add some verb & a little delay ITB.

Great clip man! Is this a Thiele?

And Joey, vibrato abuse? Wtf?

That's a Bogner OS 2x12 loaded with evm12l & v30. v30 wasn't hooked up for recording this clip. I used to own a thiele, it sounded very good in the room, especially for non metal content, but due to being front loaded & having no batting inside it was harsh in front of the speaker.

I understand myself. Listen closely to the backing guitar
