So my new Diezel Herbert arrived. 
This is the best metal amp I've ever heard. This thing is like a bull.
Cleans are very much like running the guitar through a bass amp but with more of a tube driven sound. Cleans are VERY good.
Channel 2 works for metal that is more like hard rock and big chording.
Channel 3 works for speed metal, death metal, Lamb Of God, Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot, etc. This channel has UNBELIEVABLE focus and clarity while playing the fastest and heaviest riffs.
Much thanks to Diezel company for making the Herbert . This is the GOLD STANDARD in metal riffing... BAR NONE.
The stock EL34s sound excellent. I had to change tubes in the VH4S to SED 6L6 before I was satisfied. But the Herbert works PERFECTLY with the EL34s.
