I play a diezel herbert #029, and i need some pickups for my les paul. i have a gibson les paul vos and i play in a metal band. i dont think i really want very high output pickups, the herbert gives me all the gain and crunch that i could ever need. but i want something that will keep my low end focused and tight warm midrange and a very rich top end with good harmonics. any suggestions?

ive been looking into barenuckle, WCR, Lollar, and sheptone pickups but cant pull the trigger on any of them. does anyone have any advice??

thanks

Bare Knuckle Cold Sweats
Since we are on the topic of pickups....do you have any experience with the Bare Knuckle Emerald? If so, can you tell me how much output it has? Like...compare it to a more widely known pickup, or rate it from 1 to 10...or if anyone has any info on this pickup.

I've never tried the Emerald unfortunately, one of the few that has evaded me. However, several people on the BKP forum own them, it's worth asking there

Maybe have a look at the SD Custom 5 - great pu for the bridge position.

+1...I get the best tones of my Herbert with that one ;)

What happened to the good ol Gibson '57 Classic Plus?
I got one for the bridge and a Classic in the neck of my Classic Antique and these have some serious balls.

On one of my guitars I have a Duncan Custom 5 (SH-14). Sounds fabulous with a mahogany body/maple top! Just the right blend of heat and bottom end!

Aldrich works well
Screamin Demon is very balanced and works well
BK Miracle Man

These have worked well for me in similar guitars/use like you mention.

Bare Knuckle Cold sweat might be ok, it's a matter of taste because the highs are really impressive.
I would prefere the Nailbomb in a Les Paul...
