I just put up a review of my Herbert at http://www.coolbackingtracks.com

I have been rocking this amp sinds 2008 and damn i still enjoy playing this amp. Hope i get the time to make a video review.
Just wated to share my Herbert love with the rest

Output: 180 W

Channels: 3, with second master and mid-cut up to 6 voicings
Loops: 1 parallel, 1 insert loops, 1 switchable insert loop midi in & thru / phantom - power
Equalization: gain, treble, mid, bass, volume per channel add. gain switch on Channel 2 switchable mid. cut with adjustable volume
Preamp: 3 individually voiced, all tube pre- amps. Clean, crunch, lead
Poweramp: 6 powertube’s with the possibility to mix EL34 and 6L6
Dimensions: 74x29x28 cm

Channel 1:

The clean channel. The most sparkling clean channel I have come across. The eq lets you dail in the most pristine tone. I enjoy jazz comping, touch style guitar and this channels is it!

Channel 2:

This channel has a + and – switch. With the gain between 50 % and 60 % this channel delivers a massive tone perfect for rhythm players. I love this channel as a lead and rhythm channel. In combination with the mid cut this channel is purely amazing. I set the mid cut intensity control at 8:00 and the level control at 11:00. This gives me the most massive rhythm tone and perfect lead tone.

Channel 3:

Where channel 2 stops this channel goes a bit further. Percussive, fast attack, screaming leads that will leave your chest pounding is what you can expect from this channel. This channel is my go to lead tone if I need more of everything from channel 2. With the same mid cut settings but the channels gain at 9:00 till 10:00 I get the most beautiful violin type lead tone. When lowering the gain youll get that andy Timmons type lead tone but with a higher gain setting it will get you anywhere.

Overall:

This amp is known as a metal amp. I can assure you it does much more than that. A Herbert will fit in any band setting. Just try one out and experience it for yourself. I love playing this amp with passive pickups, modern high gain amps don’t need high output pickups so no battery powered high output pickups for me anymore. The amp is built like a tank and due to Diezel’s amazing quality and service towards their customers I can defenantly recommend this amp. I have the MK1 with the external bias points that make retubing easy!

Company:

Diezel amplification from Germany. Both Peter Diezel and Peter Stapfer are great people to deal with. Peter Diezel is on the forum at rig-talk on a daily basis so if you have any question or need help he is always at your service. When buying the Herbert customer support was important to me and if it is to you, you’re dealing with the right company.

THANK YOU !!!

Great review.

Here's to you, Peter D. and Peter S.

Diezel....the best damn amp company there is.

I too have been on a never-ending honeymoon with the herbert.

Best amp/company/customer service I have dealt with yet.

I dont get to play the amp that much more but when i do i enjoy the hell out of it!

I sold so many gear these past couple of years. My wife even told me that i should never sell the Diezel, its like her.....Chanel stuff and somethings you should never get rid of

Im thinking of getting a torpedo live so i can play the amp more and use it in my recordings. When it comes to gear, the Herbert has been my best buy.
