I took up bass two years ago after many years of playing guitar, learned many scales , chords and so forth, did my own recording with a boss RC pwdal then improvised leads. Now im really liking the massivness of the 5 and 6 string bass. Just wondered if any of you diezel lovers mix it up with bass at all. thanks

well, i was sitting last week playing my 6 string bass and was looking at the Herbert

I read somewhere that it isnt good to run a bass with a guitar cab so i didnt do it
The herb on the other hand should have no problem

As far as I know running a bass through a guitarcab isn't really a problem, just don't drive the speakers too hard.

thanks for the info guys, i have upgraded my 2 12 cab with heavy duty EV type speakers, the rig sounds beautiful, add reverb and delay and its just heavenly. you just want to savor every note... thanks for the info.

It won't hurt the amp or the speakers, but the Herbert and the typical guitar speakers won't amplify those very low bass frequencies (or at least not very good), especially with a 5/6-string bass.

You can (rather let Peter or a tech do it) modify the circuit to make your Herbert amplify those low frequencies, but your power-tubes will be working a lot harder. Then you should also add a bass-cab.

But if you haven't noticed the missing low-end until now, then don't bother modifying your amp.
