I really miss the Herbert I had. I have played a lot of amps and have been trying to find my amp for quite some time. I had a Herbert for about 4 months and used in a band context as well as low volume playing/recording and high volume recording. The guys I play with have stated a few times no amp I have had since fills the room up and fits my playing as well as the Herbert. So in short I have opted to grab another Herbert and I am happy to be able to say I am back in the family, (is that correct?)

V. : I really would love to try a VH4S one day as well. I know you have great taste in tone and if you say it is amazing then I am in hook, line and sinker!!

Peter thanks for building an amp that makes me and the guys I play with agree that it makes us sound bigger overall.

Thanks to everyone on the Diezel forum because even though I do not post here much, I follow and read daily.

Welcome back to the family. The herby is hard to beat and does not let go of you once you've had one.

Welcome back to the Diezel club brother!

IMO – Herbert is the best all-in-one three channel high-end tube amp on the planet, bar none.

Think about it…Herbert is a thirteen trick pony.

CH1: Beautiful crystal clean with massive overhead to die for. You get four distinct tones out of CH1. The default channel itself, then kick in the midcut, adjust the presence, and then adjust the deep and you got all sorts of options in tone at your finger tips.

CH2: Amazing stunning and spectacular crunch. I find myself on CH2 more than all the others as it marries well with the guitar volume control. It's just absolute genius the way Peter designed this channel. It's king of the crunch! You get five distinct tones out of CH2. The default channel itself, then kick in the +/- switch, then kick in the midcut, adjust the presence, and then adjust the deep and you got it all babe…

CH3: Now this is lead guitar and metal rhythm pandemonium heaven. You get four distinct tones out of CH3 - same as CH1. Kick in the midcut at ~1:00 on the intensity and level and game over!

Now that's what I call Money... :m17:

WELCOME BACK BRADDAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

And thanks for the kind words... We'll talk a little more about the VH4 another time, but let me just say that the Herbert is one potent beautiful amp - and worrying about the tonal differences or the 'which one is better' is pointless at this time. Just get back to filling the room with your playing, your licks, and your Herbert - as that's truly what it's all about.

In Diezel we trust :rawk:

Namaste,
V.

Thanks Peter your input on these forums can only be stated as spectacular. I know everyone appreciates your input and the simple fact of how you are here shows your loyalty to us and your product. You are a class act!!!

Man.....good to see you back.

Now I have to get there myself!

I had some GAS attack on new amps only to be let down after being spoiled by the Diezels.
I am going to get back into a VH4S in the near future.
That amp after looking back is what fits me the best.

As you can see from above Brad is now the owner of the Bogner. He has a lot more funds than I do and I can only justify one amp at this costs. Do not take this as anything negative towards the Bogner as it is a great amp and the best Bogner to date. In my first post I think I stated that the Herbert fits my style best and in our band context it has been the best amp of any amp I have ever owned.

The Herbert for me has an aggression that can be let loose or throttled, it does clean better than the Bogner, it does plexi different from the Bogner, but the Herbert has a really crisp plexi type tone, but if I have Plexi covered in another amp that is well a Plexi. The gain and modern tones are what sets the Herbert and Bogner 20th apart. The Herbert can get more modern than what is currently being done as well as believe it or not some great touch dynamics for blues, country and old rock. Most do not comment on this and those are not my primary types of music when it comes to songwriting. But on a personal level I love playing this type of music and the Herbert can do it well. I guess in the end I feel the Herbert is the one amp I have owned that can cover the primary stuff and also just kill on the over the top stuff!

If that did not make any sense it is because I just got up and have not had any coffee yet.
