does anyone know where is the best/cheapest place to buy a diezel einstein in the u.k? thanks!

james leader - diezel UK - 079711 84854
he hired a studio and let me try the einstein LOUD for 2 hours !
(although i knew i was buying it within 30 seconds of plugging into it )
tell him shaun sent you .
:)

I got my Herbie from Manson's (mansons.co.uk). They were really helpful. I'd shop there more often but they're in Exeter so it's a bit of a drive from here...

£1498.99 for the head & £1799 for the combo atm. Dunno how that compares...

The bloke at manson's also builds custom guitars for Matt Bellamy, Mike Oldfield and Andy Summers! Mmmm, nice!

thats fine - but james is the official uk distributor , and through him i was able to order both a custom finished cab and also have the einstein footswitch mod arranged at tubelit (sent direct from the diezel factory ) .
thats service !
:)

Fair enough!

Manson's were cheaper and I could turn up any day I liked with no notice and try one though. Unfortunately, being the one of the unluckiest guys on the planet my first Herbert ate tubes like sweeties for some (as yet unknown) reason, and was really unreliable. Whenever I cranked it up to about 12 o'clock a tube and/or fuse blew half the time! Manson's had someone pick it up from me and ship it back to Peter twice trying to find what was wrong with it. The first time they sent me a Randall head to use in the meantime too. Goddamn is the Herbert worth an extra £1300 more than the Randall!!!! I'd heard they were quite good for metal type stuff but it was absolutely soulless! The medium gain was crap and the clean I thought was broken or the knobs were somewhere odd, but they weren't! My 25Watt Park practice amp was better at clean! No wonder Marshall's look good value for money at medium quality amp prices! Anyway, I digress; it sucked, but regardless, they were thoughtful at least, and it wasn't a cheap amp at £1k, especially as they were shipping extra amps around England at their cost. Peter said he couldn't find anything wrong with my Herbert and also retubed the whole thing. After the second time it went back he sent me a new one as it was probably quite obvious I wasn't very happy with it, it was more unreliable than my bought-on-the-cheap ancient unreliable rig I bought it to replace, and didn't really trust it as far as I could throw it (and that's not far for a Herbert!!!). Anyway, since I got the new Herbert a couple of months ago it's been good as gold, and I've not had any hint of a problem with it. Hurrah for Peter & Mansons! :) I do seem cursed with new things that don't work though. Got a new iPod dock today. Opened it and plugged it in. It doesn't do sod all. Dead as a dodo. I think I might stop buying anything new. New stuff I buy never works for me and I spend most of my time at work being able to make ANYTHING work, no matter how f@$£ed, and always treat my music equipment well!

we must be karmically linked !
EVERYTHING i buy is either faulty or just generally crap! (with the hopeful exception of the einstein when it arrives !) .
i guarantee that if a friday guitar is made , then i'm the bloke who buys it !
thats pretty good service from mansons though .
:)
