Diezel Pedal - Effects Power Amp

Hello Diezel Folks
I have a question about using effects. This is my plan. I want to run my VH-4 2 & Herbert pedal into my effects (Delay/Reverb) then into a power amp. The question is, will effects work the same as using a effects loop.. . I currently run my Diezel pedal into the front of a DSL40c with delay in the loop. Thanks
