I came to a conclusion that I can't outsmart myself and I decided that I should put stock tubes in my soon-to-come Diezel. I started digging through forum and I found out that Peter (cheers!) sometimes attaches Diezel Stock Tubes PDF. Everything seems easy but every file contains different tubes depending from the time he uploaded it. I found out that he uses or used (newest to oldest):
*KT77-JJ
*Ruby Tubes EL34BG or EL34BSTR
*Ruby Tubes EL34BG or EL34BHT alternative TAD EL34B-STR
*Ruby Tubes EL34BHT alternativ Ruby Tubes 6L6GC
*Ruby Tubes EL34BHT alternativ EL34SED (Winged C)

...and now what? I understand that these tubes doesn't sound the same. I like EL34 sound and AFAIK KT77s doesn't sound like EL34, well, they are different tubes. Should I go for Ruby then? If so, which one I should choose? Which one is "better"? But I guess it's only a matter of taste so maybe, which one is more realiable?

I also wrote more about my taste here: http://www.rig-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=145559

If anyone can help me in any way I'll be thankful.

If you like EL34s, you'll like KT77s. I believe Peter's choice in tubes boils down to what is reliable and affordable. And that changed over time depending on what the tube manufacturers were producing. I recently switched from SED Winged C EL34s to Gold Lion KT77s and they sound every bit as good, if not better. Tighter low end than EL34s, slightly extended high-end, and the same aggressive forward mid-range. And they are rated as being able to handle abuse just as well as the SED Winged C. I've heard from other Gold Lion users that they like them more than the JJ KT77.

I've used the Ruby BHT and BSTR, JJ EL34 and E34L, as well as Tesla/ARS (the ones that come stock in older Uberschalls), as well as a few other brands. To me, the Gold Lion KT77 has been among the best sounding in a Diezel.

Hope that helps. :)

I still use ruby bht's. jj-kt77's sounded bad to me in all except Einstein.

I got a complete set of pre's (ruby) and power (Winged C EL'34's) for my VH4 from the vale queen and could not be happier with the results.
