Just picked up the Diezel VH2 and made a quick video of testing out both amps. The Friedman BE100 has been my go to live & recording amp for the past few years. I've owned the JJ100, Phil X, SS100, Smallbox, and a Friedman Modded Marshall 100W Plexi, but this BE100 has been my favorite of the bunch. The structure switch adds a ton of versatility to it. However, I sometimes miss the raw, impolite sound of a JCM800 or Peavey 5150. The Diezel definitely has that raw, pissed off kind of sound with a HUGE bottom end. I think the Friedman is a much more forgiving amp in that it has a lot of natural compression and filtering going on. The Diezel demands a bit more from the player in terms of tightness, but it pays off with a sound that punches you in the chest if you're in the room with the amp. Both ridiculously good amps though. Wish I could keep both but I'm trying to decide which one I'm going to hang on to.

Great video! The VH2 slays the BE IMO. Same impression I had IRL when I compared a BE, JJ and VH4. It sounds bigger, nastier, rawer and angrier.

You should've used the Silverburst though! That's a gorgeous guitar.

This isn't helping for my VH2/VH4 GAS

Thanks a bunch! I'll post a follow up with the Silverburst soon. I've been tracking guitars for an album that I'm recording and it's 90% Les Paul Custom but I've really been digging the sound of that Rock N Roll Relics as well. Cool thing about the Diezel is that if you have a thinner sounding guitar, you can just turn up the "Deep" knob a bit and really fill things out. Still loving both amps though.

Much prefer the VH2 here, sounds great. When I played both I prefer the slax in the room though

VH2 sounds great! I like that it sounds angrier and more cutting than the polished and polite-sounding Friedman. But I think ultimately that Diezel voicing isn't more me.

they both sound good....Might be a matter of feel when making your decision.

Agreed. I think playing them on their own at home, the Friedman is a little bit friendlier sounding due to the smoother top end, but I'm going to tryout the Diezel at a band practice this week. I have a feeling in the context of a band it's bigger sound will work really well and the gnarlier top end will help it cut. Hoping it works out.

Btw, what's the difference between the VH2 and 4 ?

The VH2 is 2 channel where the VH4 is 4 channel. The VH4 also has a bunch of midi switching options that are cool, but I have no need for them for what I'm doing.

Sounds killer, man! Thanks for sharing. I like both but prefer the Diezel, but I am biased...

There's a pretty big price difference in the 2. The VH2 sounds awesome! I am seriously considering selling my Mesa MkV 35 head towards the VH2. And compared to that friedman, I think it smoked it. Very nice tone!

Nice video, good job!
Both amps sound great. I liked the VH2 with what you were playing.
Juicier, cleaned up nice, sweet grind to it. Sounded like you could work it more.
I’m going to have to start micing up my h75 more often. Really great sound with your setup.

Thanks so much! I sometimes forget how good a SM57 can sound. Suppose it's a classic for a reason. Really dig your videos by the way.

Do it! Sold my V 25 recently and replaced it with the Einstein. Super happy and that's not even a VH2 or VH4! The Mark rhythm tone is cool but that channel 3 tone is untouchable.

Thanks. The sm57 on a V30 always does the trick for me

Both sounded great, but for the music you were playing the VH2 just does it better. Thank you for posting.

I liked the VH2 better in this clip, nice playing too.
