I'm playing guitar for a long time and I think I've found the amp I need... Diezel VH4 ! :D

The problem with the VH4 is the power...120w are just TOO MUCH for me (and I think for most of the non-professionnal guitarist).
I actually play with a Gibson LP Custom, my amp is : Marshall JMP1/Brunetti Mille/VHT 2/50/2 ; and one of the excellent caracteristic of the VHT poweramp are the attenuation switches on each canal, which permits to play at reasonnable volumes...

So here's my question : when will Diezel Amps built VH4 19"rack preamp? Or a 50 or 60w head? (i know the Einstein exist on 50w version but... it's not the VH4...)

There will be a preamp sometime next year, but I doubt (based on info I've read) that it will be a VH4 preamp. It will be it's own thing. If you really want a VH4 and want to crank it, just get an attenuator.

I've recently talk with a VH4's owner who told me he played with only two EL34 on the poweramp, to use it in 50w power out...I didn't know it was possible... Do you think it it can damage the amp?

It will not damage the amp, but there is not big aural difference between 50 and 100 watt. 100 watts just have more headroom. The volume will be more or less the same.
VH4 can also play well at lower volumes.

I will probably buy a VH4S in the next few days, but playing in my flat with a stereo 2x50 or mono 100w tube head is just...dangerous for neighbour relations... :scared:
I know I can play through 2 powerbrakes (for the VH4S) but it's expensive and I'd prefer to play at low volumes with less tubes...
Do you think playing with only one EL34 per channel on na 2x12 ENGL (V30 speakers) can make the VH4S less powerfull (speaking about aural projection), comparing to a VH4 with only 2 powertubes?

why not just channel volume down (master in relation up) and also i found that cranking the presence helps a lot for bedroom volumes. i have presence at ~ noon at gig-volumes, cranked to 3:00-4:00 at home.

would still work better i think. an amp, sounding as good at low volumes, as the Diezels has yet to come.

it's an idea, but I like stereo effects (that's the only reason why I prefer the VH4S to the VH4) so I play with the 2 channels on.
I insist on this because my actual rig (Marshall JMP1 + Brunetti Mille + VHT 2/50/2) doesn't sound as good at low volume as at reasonable higher volume (but too loud for playing in a flat...).
With the time, I see that tube amplifiers works better at certains volumes because tubes are more efficient at a certain voltage.. That's why I actually plays at home with my 2502 and its attenuation In switches on, I can turn the volume pots a little more (3-4 on 10) and the sound's got more depp, more 'oomph" than playing at 1-1.5 without the attenuation switches In...
But perhaps VH4 / VH4S sounds good at very low volumes... tell me
