It's "open" in the sense that it's well-voiced and has more treble/presence available than the older versions, but overall it's still a compressed amp.Sounds more modded Marshall than Diezel. Sounds open and good!
The latest revision is a noticeably different amp than previous versions...I believe that the difference has been understated.Sounds more modded Marshall than Diezel. Sounds open and good!

I haven’t got the older one to compare. But I would say not as compressed and more presenceWhat changed?
Thanks. Do you have gut shots?I haven’t got the older one to compare. But I would say not as compressed and more presence
The latest revision include a dramatically improved chan 2...more gain, more open and really nails a refined, mod Marshall tone. Chan 3 is brighter, less compression and again more gain available. Chan 4 was previously only really usable as a lead Chan....now is a killer rhythm channel as well. More open, brighter and more aggressive overall.Interesting. I've had several but none more recent than an '07 (I had a blue one from the 90s with the extra preamp tube for channel 1 etc).
They definitely got brighter over time.
I liked them all but channel 3 always seemed too "pinched" or squished. Maybe I'd love the newest one.
