Hi to all forum members.
This is my first post here. I've got VH4 two weeks ago, great amp.
I need a reasonable input into tube selection topic.
VH4 I have is 2010 model and now It's loaded with EL34. Basically I wouldn't go another type of power tubes. I like EL34 character. But If you make me feel another way, I'll definately think about it.
I know that Peter himself advice KT77 to go with VH4. But I feel like tonewise it will be step towards the KT88 character (not exactly the same, but a step aside EL34 towards KT88 "feel"). Am i right?
I've already have great KT88 amp, VHT Ultralead. I'm more than satisfied with it distinctive tone. So I want VH4 to save that EL34 "feel" for now.
Well, enough said, help me choose preamp and power tubes brands for my VH4. Which are better and why?
