Hi there every one. :P

Looks like i will finally hear a VH4S sooner than I thought which is great news.

I am starting a recording studio and wish to have high end boutique amps available to customers as a draw card. Has anyone owned or heard these other amps compared with the VH4S? If so what was the main differences.

And also what is your opinions on the best cabinet for a VH4S and why?

Peace.

MIKE

All of these amps are great! The Uber is richer than the VH4 but looser. More Numetal and less Neo Classical. The SLO is kind of close to channel 3 of the VH4 but much more open and in your face and not as tight. As I said before they are all great just different. It really depends on what your going for. For angry metal I would suggest a Soldano Avenger instead of any of these. Less money and more aggressive. Just so you know, I'm the broke idiot that owns all of these(Actually I sold my Uber for cash) which means I've spent too much time comparing and too little time playing in bands. My personal HELL! I actually find myself using the Avenger and the VH4 mainly bot for live and recording.
For all I think the Diezel rear loaded cab with V30s is the best. The NYC if you live in the States is really my favorite of their three. The good thing is that no matter which of these amps you go with everyone everywhere will love them all. Rock on.......

Zioberg21 I have a question about your Avenger. How different is the distortion in the Slo compared to the Avenger? While I have been waiting for my VH4 I bought an Avenger and love it. I have been thinking about selling it to get a Slo as a back up to my VH4 that has been shipped from Peter in about 2 weeks.

Don't sell it! While I will agree there is something special about an SLO, nothing I have played is as bad ass as the overdrive in the Avenger. To me the Avenger is just as smooth as the SLO but much more aggressive. As you know it only has one channel and that is sometimes difficult at gigs but if I could only keep one amp, I really think the Avenger would be it. The SLO is a little better at leads, but only slightly. If you want a good backup for the VH4 the SLO is what I use also, but if you can keep both you should. PM me if I can help anymore.

Great advice man. You have heard and know a lot about these amps  I have a stereo set up running a hughes and kettner duotone with a mesa dual rec. Are you running the avenger and vh4 in stereo? Thanks for your insight. In New Zealand these amps are very hard to get a hold of. I hope to have vh4s soon. Cant wait to play it!

I wish I could convince a sound guy to give me two mics for a stereo rig. No I just use different amps for different moods. If I can get buy with the Avenger I usually use it other than that it's the VH4 or SLO. I don't have any real pics but I'll try to take some cool ones and post them up. Thanks.....
