Difference between the Tourmaster 212x Cab and Rebel 112

What difference should I expect between these two setups, if any?

1. A Rebel 20 connected to the 212x Tourmaster Cab.
2. A Rebel 20 connected to a pair 112 Rebel Cabs.

I'm trying to decide if I should keep my 212x cab or replace it with a
pair of 112 Rebel cabs. The reason for this would be killing two
birds with one stone. If I need a quick setup that's easy to carry
for small gigs or practices, I can take the head and one 112 cab. If
I need the 2x12 sound, then I'll take the 2 little cabs. Makes it more
modular I think. Pun and all!

What's your take?

The 112s sound real good so does the 212s but I think you answered your own ??? either way your gonna sound good!!

I guess I just want to make sure a don't lose the great sound I'm getting out of the 212x by switching over to separate cabs.

You will get less bass from 2 112s as opposed to 1 212. Bigger boxes = bigger bass. The only real advantages are that the 112s are small and easier to carry and you can position them far apart for a wider sound spread.

All I have to say, is the TM212 is one of the best sounding cabs I've owned. I've had 2-G12K100s and 1 G12T75 and 1 CL80 in there and it's just killer sounding!!!! The K100s have found a permanent home in my TM212, and my G12T75s and CL80s have found a permanent home in my TM4x12. Those V30s sounded so thin and like dog shit in comparison to the G12T75 and CL80 setup. It's quite funny, I did a side by side test w/ my TM212 w/ G12K100s vs the stock TM4x12 w/ V30s....The K100 loaded TM212 cab swallowed the V30 loaded TM412. It was a considerable difference in volume, tone, thump, meatiness, etc. After throwing the G12T75s and CL80s in an X pattern in the TM4x12, that cab came to life. Big, meaty, great mid range....great sparkle. Just a big more sag and give vs the K100s. I love both cabs 100%. Then there's the Weber Blue Dog...those 3 speaker combinations are just plain stellar!

Anyway, it just sounds like I'm going to have to keep the single 1x12 for compact gigs and also keep the 2x12 for when I need the extra juice. That's only about $250 more expensive than just keeping the 2 112's and getting rid of the 2x12. Could be worth it. If... I didn't already have the 212 Mesa Lonestar. My wife can barely walk around our room with the array of cabinets and amps and pedals cluttering the place!

Can you remind me again which of these are the orignal "Elite 80s" that come in the cab stock? If the answer is, none of the above, how do the stock speakers compare to your favorite setup there. Is it really worth the change?? I had a Fender Super-Sonic with a single V30 in it and I really liked it. But right now, I'm in love with the clean tones that my Mesa Lonestar makes through it's open back cab loaded with 2 Black Shadows. I've played the Lonestar through the Eggie 212x, and I still like the Black Shadow/open back configuration more. But that's for clean tones. For the dirty stuff I enjoy the Eggie with the closed back more, whether I'm playing a Rebel or the Mesa through it.

The Elite 80s are similar to the CL80s.I run an Elite 80 and a G12T75 in each of the 212s and it really sounds great.Lots of thump ,great mids and nice high that don't seem to shatter glass
