I have been selling some gear to try and get an od-100 .I have since come across an od50 for sale on a forum at a pretty decent price . If I buy either one it will be without the opportunity to play thru it . I have however heard a lot of clips of the od-100 . However with 1 exception I cannot find any clips of the od 50 .Of course the first thought is that since it is the 50 watt version of the od100 it should sound almost identical . However I found this to be very far from the truth with the Soldano Slo and the Soldano Hot rod 50 + .Obviously the output transformers play a significant role in the tone . So I guess what I'm asking is , how far apart are they .Is it just a difference in the tone itself or is one grainier than the other or what ? I realize this is a hard question to answer . Just thought I would throw it out there and see what info I could get.

you need to be more concerned about the models, OD's come in classic, standard, standard+, se+, and I'm probabaly leaving one out.

You were...PT100 ;)

ehehehe.

I'm aware of the different models . I belive either the standard or the pt would suit me best . But like I said is there a big difference in tone from the 100 and the 50 ?

There's always a difference...mostly in feel vs tone. I do know that Suhr is looking to potentially release a new PT model in a 50-watt with more bells and whistles like MIDI, etc. typical differences between a 50 and 100 watt head is headroom, a bit punchier and such. But ..there's not that much difference.
