forgive if its a dumb question, but looking at the descriptions on the site, all the amps look pretty much the same.

what's the big difference between all the model?

I 'think' the only difference between the Competition and the Quickrod is that the Quickrod is 100W and it has a dedicated clean channel.
Can't speak for the others.

That is right. The Competetion is 50w and can footswitch between modes.

The QR is 100W, and usually EL34.

The Promod is the same preamp as the QR/Comp, but different power section/tubes.

The Nitro (I think) is more of a metal amp. I'm guessing that means different pre and power sections.

I have a Competition and it really focuses on the hot-rodded Marshall sound. Van Halen-ish types of gain through a lot of the hair metal stuff (Dimartini/Lynch) into thrash. It doesn't really hit the scooped or chugga-chugga sounds as well (not that I've tried all that hard) and really isn't as tight as somone would want for hardcore metal.

Yup.
That is exactly how i would describe my Competition.
I'm sure you could tighten it up a bit with a boost or something, but that is not what it was intended for, imo.
