I'm considering getting one or the other 20th anniversary models, but I'm just wondering what the difference is between the two besides wattage and channels. Is one less compressed than the other? How different tonally are they?

I guess to throw something else in the discussion, I own a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier. I like the sound, but I don't want to buy another amp that sounds just like it.

I went from a Dual to a Shiva and couldn't be happier. I ran mostly on channel 2 vintage on the Dual, was looking for a simpler set and forget amp and the Shiva was the ticket for what I am doing. I got mine just( like one day) befor the 20th came out so I am kind of kicking my self for that move. I liked the XTC (Dream amp for me) but after tons of knobs I really wanted to get a simpler format that has honest to God mid range punch. Either one will complement your DRF and not sound anything like it. I say try them both if you can!

Shiva has been on my radar for a while now too. Thing is you see a shiva in more touring live rigs than the XTC or Uber. There's a cool 20th Shiva on ebay right now.
