Does a complete refret change the tone of a guitar?

Say if you went from medium to jumbo? The guitar is a SSS American Standard strat. I know this might upset the purists...

How much does it cost to refret a guitar?
I think it depends on the board and how it's finished, but I've heard $175 recently?

I had Dunlop Jumbos put on my Les Paul Goldtop 30th Anniv. Didnt change the tone but made the guitar much easier to play and bend notes in tune. I paid $250 for the refret and a high end luthier place in RI.

i think there is a difference, you hear more "fret" or something. i happen to love that tone that big frets give you

Thanks for the words guys. Just gave the guitar a thorough clean, setup and put it up to 10s from 9s, and im just not feeling the guitar compared to my Suhr :(

The neck profile is wrong, the frets are too small, I prefer the more modern radius and worst of all, the Suhr "out-strats" it. I think its a got great potential tonewise (it was the best strat out of about 30). Dont know if its worth throwing new pickups and a new neck at it, or should I just cut my losses?

if you have a guitar that does what it does only better why keep it?

The Suhr has a floyd, which is a PITA for switching up tunings but I love having a floyd on it. Need another guitar that I can use if I wanna jam with for different tunings and backup!

Maybe I should toss it and find something else.
