Does anyone use an equalizer for their main sound?

Recently acquired a Boss graphic equalizer from a trade and dont have the opportunity to try it out yet, and I was pondering how you one guys use one, I think I would want to boost the low mids to get a fatter sound and cut highest freq (I have a Marshall JCM800) I already have an SD-1 I use so I dont think I would use it as a clean boost. Do any of you use one?

I always use the MXR 10 band in the loop. I only use it for cutting frequencies (not boosting them). Typically, I shave off a bit of the lowest frequency to get rid of boominess and then cut way back around 8k and higher (reduces fizz).

That's how I set mine, but I throw it in front and use it basically as a clean boost.
I never add frequencies with it either, just dial away the unwanted ones.

What model is it? Does it work well with line level loops?

I used to use a Boss GE-7 in the loop of my JCM 800 2205. Worked great! I used to cut some mid frequencies and boost the low end.

I currently use a Boss GE-7 in my pedalboard. Its on all of the time and its used to shape tone but not as a boost.

I have been using the danelectro fish and chips eq with my fender champ. I never used it much before getting the champ, but I find it useful as a boost and/or to further adjust the eq since the champ has somewhat limited EQ control.

I would like to try out that BYOC 10-band EQ, that thing looks nice.
