Hello Everyone here at the "Worlds best Amp" Forum.

Hello Peter - Maybe you remember me, I visited you a while ago. I think it was 2002 - I was this guy from Vienna - at least you remember the Sachertorte?

We joked around of creating the "Hoss" Amp. A Single Channel Beast only delivering the chann. 2 of Herbert. No Midi, no Gimmicks no nothing - just a deadsimple Mean-Machine. I played in a Hardcore/Metal Band those days and I would have loved a thing like that.

Now you have your own Forum, created lots of new Amps. Its wonderful to see that German Quality still counts and that your love and commitment to your job brought such a succes to the "DIEZEL" Thing. ;)
Thumbs up for your effort!

I ended up in playing Bass in a kind of 70s style Stoner Rock Band these days.

My Guitar Player - He plays a 2-Channel JCM 800 from the mid-eighties. He ist unsatisfacted with his lead tone. Hes looking for a beefier more oldschool tone. He now thinks of buying a plexi - Either an old used one from E-Bay or one of those Marshall Plexi Reeissues.

I remember your Amps of beeing very reliable and tanklike built. I dont want to get in trouble on tour with a Guitarrist messing around with a 35+ Years Amp. Do you think I can recommend my Guitarist giving the Einstein a try? Does it deliver those kind of sound?

Nice greetings to everyone,
Hoss

It doesn't sound like a Marshall, it's generally darker and thicker but I think it would work for stoner rock stuff.

I don't know what kind of lead tone he wants though, the 2nd channel has a really wonderful voicing but way too much gain IMO. I generally keep the gain at 9 o'clock or less if I don't want the infinite sustain, very compressed kind of lead tones. Definitely a really fat, sweet lead tone though.

Servas Hoss !!!

What´s up with Your 8 by 15 inch Diezel cab ?

Thanks for Your kind words, things are going
well in Bad Steben. I have a new factory and
4 members to work for the Diezel company.

Pick up Your band mate and come over to
good old Franken. Don´t forget the Sacher
and the Schlagobers.

Hope You are well,

Peter

IMO, no. The Einstein has its own thing going on, but vintage is not what I'd call it.

I think it can be fairly vintage sounding if you turn the presence down a bit and keep the gain in check. No, it won't sound like a tweed Fender or an old Marshall or VOX but it can deliver tones that are smooth and fat instead of "modern" edgy and tight.

It was a 9 x 12"

 Its fun that you remember!

Thank you for your Invitation.
I m looking forward to that.
I will put March in mind if thats ok for you.
Were gonna be three. The Guitarrero, The Sachertorte and myself.
I will write you a PM, ok?

By the Way. Will Mrs. Luzy be ready for a little Test-Drive?

Habe die Ehre,
Hoss

I still have pictures from our visit in 2002. I wonder if theve ever been sent to you?

Thank you Laxu and cloud9. Well give it a try - If its not our Guitarrists Cup of Tea, than at least we had a trip thats fun and full of Guitar- and Amp-Talking with Peter and his Friends.

Servas Peter!

Its me again. :) March didnt work out obviously.

Theres no PM Function on your Profile so Im writing via my old thread.
Do you have some time for a Sachertorte and two Wiener between Aug. 18,19,20,21 ?

Our Guitarplayer wants to check out the Einstein 50, 100 with a rearloaded 412. And myself... I would like to try out (Prototype) Lucy, if thats possible. I could bring over my Vintage Ampeg SVT + Fridge if that would make an interesting A/B Test...

We plan some shows in Autumn so we need that phat Diezel Sound! :D

Grüße nach Franken!
Hoss

PS: Einen schönen Gruß vom Wolf Handl von der Klangfarbe soll ich ausrichten! I visited him last week and he was absolutely begeistert from the rearloaded 412 - We checkt it out together in his shop with the vh4 FULLY CRANKED  - Wolf would immediately buy it for himself! The Deep Knob on the VH4 makes a bass player unemployed.

Hello Hoss !

You are welcome, just call me a few days before
Your visit. Last Saturday I had Reinhard Stranzinger
and Helmut Bibl in my workshop. You should know
them, both are from Vienna.

Greetings to Wolf

hey hoss ,
i'm awaiting delivery of that exact rig - einstein 50 & 2x12 rear loaded cab .
i brought it because , like your guitar player , i always used marshall but was never really happy with the sound .
when i demoed the rig that ive ordered (loud!! in a studio for 2 hours ) i got some great vintage/marshall -esque tones going - like the best plexi / mk2 master volume you've ever heard .
the other guys are right though - its thicker and darker than the marshall - but to me it is everything that i always wished the marshalls could be .
i reckon he'll love it !
:)
