Anybody using a Randall RF4 footswitch to channel switch thier Eganter Mod 50? I just wanted to be sure they were compatible.
Thanks

Hi Drew
Does your RF4 look like the pics below. I recently picked this one up from the classified section but I can't get it to work with my Mod 50. The Mod 50 is OK, as I borrowed a GC pro that changed channels just fine. Is there something strange that I'm missing? You connect the Mod 50 and pedal wtih a 7 pin midi cable, select a button on the footswitch and then push in and hold the channel selector button on the Mod 50 for 3 seconds. It is supposed to flash and let me know it saved but it does nothing. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, that's the one. It also sounds like you're programming it right (you obviously know how to do it). I'll do a bit of research for you, but first a couple quick questions:
1) is the cable good? Do you have another? I'm guessing you're using the same one that worked with the other pedal...
2) is any light on the footswitch lit up when plugged to the 7pin and the amp powered up?

I'm using the same 7 pin cable that worked with the GC Pro. When I have the amp on, I do get a LED lamp for the channel selected. If yours works, it kind of sounds like I may have bought a bad footswitch? I'm open for any suggestions. Thanks

It's the only pedal I use on the MOD50, only one I have ever used. The footswitch works perfectly with the MOD50. It's possible the pedal is bad. Have you tried to program all four buttons on the pedal? Will any of the four buttons program? Might be a single bad button? I had an Egnater pedal, damaged in shipping, the "1" button not work, but the other three would program. The chip under buttom 1 was destroyed. Have not yet looked into repair. I'm not sure if Bruce does any repair or has parts to repair. You may also want to contact Rob @ Jaded Faith, he is an authorized repair dealer for Randall MTS. I'll continue to research, but that's all I have for you now. Sorry, man, that's a bummer.

Mike,
Your procedure sounds for programming it sounds correct and it sounds like you can rule out a bad cable as well. Do you have any other MTS amp to test the RF4 with? If so, please do and let me know how it works out. If it appears broken at that point we can discuss repairs. Email and we can discuss it further.

All the best,
Rob
