Anyone know if the Mod50 come stock with a balanced 12AX7 Phase Inverter tube straight from Egnater?

Trying to decide if it makes a whole heck of a lot of difference or not. I've heard opinions on both sides of the fence.

What are all you guys using as your Phase inverter tube right now?

I really could tell the difference, and I hear shit :D I believe I have an EH in mine and on all of them.

Word... I may try out a JAN 12AX7A that I have. Mil Spec, so it's built like a brick S-house, but it just doesn't soundt that great in V1 of anything.

Might work well as a phase inverter.

Nick if you read enough about it, i bet your ears will hear the difference.

So true so true. I've been bit by that and the "Youtube" bug a few times. Everytime I try something else, I just keep going back to my Eggie stuff :). I'll tell ya, I've have done SO much less swapping now that I've found the JP 5751 for lower gain stuff. I just love that tube man. That, and getting 2 GC Eggie cabs has helped. That TM212 w/ G12K100s is amazing, and the GC TM412 w/ CL80s and G12T75s is the bomb. I really have no complaints whatsoever...and no GAS for anymore speakers or tubes. I can't wait to get my HBE and Custom 45 modules though :).

My main reason for asking HERE, about the Phase Inverter tube, is because we Egg-heads seems to have good ears. Naturally, since we've settled upon the Mod stuff. ;)

I figured this group would be a good bunch to ask. If Eric and Jason can't hear a difference then I know that I sure won't be able to.
