I LOVE my Renegade's clean channel..........seriously does it get better than this?

VX Channel A with a 5751 in V1. I prefer Vox cleans to Fender cleans, and I don't play anything thats squeaky clean.

I can honestly say the Renegade is one of the best amp purchase I've made in a long time. I like both channels, the thing takes pedals so well, then all the great features with the bias points, boosts, EQ shift switches, great foot pedal functionality, very nice sounding loop, and a great master volume.

Yep I really like it a lot.

you know I love the amp....... I don't like the high gain setting that much... once the gain is past 12:00 is NOT my cup of tea, but I use the gain at 10:00 in the OD channel and it's smooooking! specially with my strats, although my les paul sounds bitching too.

But the clean channel is incredible! I love fender cleans and I have a Princeton Reverb RI and it's amazing!

I'd like to know if this amp has the best clean channel in the Egnater family or do the T/D modules sound better?

Yep that's where I keep my gain as well. If I need a bit more I like using pedals.

+1 OD channel with gain at 10:00 then a BB preamp hitting it up front total bliss! :inlove:

I have been hearing about this BB Preamp. I already have a tubescreamer. Is it similar?

Im wanting something to push the Renegade into a little bit higher gain territory. Will the BB do this?

What characteristics does it have?

Resistance is Futile....you have to have a BB preamp in your arsenal.

The BB works great with so many amps. Don't be fooled by imitators

Would you buy the BB over the Zves Box of Rock?

I want a BB, but I'd sell my OCD for the pedalboard real-estate. I'm not sure I'm ready to do that.

Hey Joey, you mentioned the Princeton... So, what cleans do you prefer the Renegade or the Princeton?

oh that's hard........

the princeton cleans are crispier and more prestine, but the renegade's are fuller... I like my cleans a little bit scooped, so my clean setting on my renegade are: Gain: 12:00, mids: 11:00, treble 2:00, bass: 11:00, bright swtich off, deep on, 65w. 6L6 side 100%

I'm glad they don't sound the same because seriously they both have it's own space in a mix. The Princeton is a 1x10 combo which definitely sounds different and feels different than my renegade head+TM 2x12 cab. (as soon as I can I'm getting a Eggie 4x10 cab).

BB Preamp....

it's such a wonderfull pedal, I'm in love with mine, seriously.... I could base my entire sound around a princeton Reverb with a nice delay pedal and a BB preamp.

It's not a TS9/TS808 clone, it's got it's own thing going, it has a little compression thus making it insanely good for leads. I usually run it low gain..... I don't play heavy music, hell I don't even play rock rock, it's more pop-rock so I don't go past a Bonamassa-gain.

It's such a clear pedal in the clean channel (my fav.) or boosting the OD channel (most people favor the pedal for this, since it hardly changes the amp's OD channel character/sound)

I haven't tried an OCD but I'm so happy with the BB preamp that I don't really think I need one/want one.

a Zendrive on the other hand!! :inlove:

Thanks for the info Joey, I might have to get a hold of a BB and compare it with my OCD before making a decision. As far as your Princeton goes... Is yours the newer version, or vintage?

I havn't tried the renegade yet, but I thought the tourmaster had some stellar cleans

mine's just the regular PRRI (reissue),but I've heard a lot of people say the PRRI are the best reissues fender make.

YAY!!!! Somebody finally sticking up for the Tourmaster!

I think channel 1 has great cleans;

I think the Tourmaster is the unsung hero of the Egnater line. I think it was their first Chinese made release, and I think it has been overshadowed by the Rebel and Renegade, but it is a great amp! Had the Renegade been available when I was buying I think I still would have taken the Tourmaster!

I think its widdle feewings have been hut...

:m9: :m9: :m9: :bash:

I'd love to try the TOurmaster, although I don't need 4 channels and could definitely live without the weight hehehehe

It's heavy, no doubt about it. The first two channels have really great cleans, channel 1 in a twin-ish sort of way, and 2 is a bit bassman like. Three is just a really good overdrive channel. 4 is over the top. I don't use it much.

:dunno:  :emofag: :grim:

I think the weight is the only thing that would deter me from looking at the tourmaster. IF it was to just sit put, that would be fine but lifting that thing every week, ouch. A reason I love the small package amps.
