Don't cheap out: The secret to better tone

This should be pretty basic, but alas, I ignored the fact that new strings equals more tone. Some of my guitars have strings that are years old. I just never changed them for some weird reason.

This is an Axe FXIII tone that I had created and revisited using a guitar that's just been restrung. Sounds so much better than when I first created it using some guitar with dead strings:



So I made a a note to self: Change strings every now and then.

Oops, you beat me to it. I dialled in everything with old strings. Could be better, definitely.

This was a new recording *facepalm*.

Given how bad most of my stuff sounds though, it’s an improvement!

It’s like when I hit export, a blanket is added over my sound. Damn computers.
