They definitely cover a lot of ground musically.I'm using them in a heavy blues rock band covering Trower,Cactus,Humble Pie,ZZ Top etc. and then I can throw in some Priest,Sabbath and Maiden with no problem. It's just a very musical and responsive pickup that can get mean when you want it to.

I just picked up some F/L standard singles and an Aldrich for my G&L Legacy. Now I need to order a new pickguard. Can't wait to get 'em in!

Must be the exception here, but I love the DSH / JST singles combo I have.

Saving for either another RBM or Modern w/Aldrich's though...

I might have to give an Aldrich a shot...

In one of my LP's I run a combo of SSV in the neck and SSV+ in the bridge. George from Acme made a great harness that includes a push/pull to tap the neck... I get the fattest single coil tones! Everyone freaks when I pull out the LP and play Stevie type raked blues stuff.

I want a little more girth from the bridge tho... not sure if I should try a SSH or go all the way to the Aldrich... might be too much of a jump from the SSV neck? Suggestions anyone?

How would you compare Aldrich to Duncan's JB?

Without doing a comparison experiment right now, I would say:

Aldrich =

warmer
more organic
more versatile

BUT, fairly similar

similar highs
similar harmonics
similar output
etc.

If you love the JB, you'll REALLY love the Aldrich

i also think its tighter in the lows and more focused, i have a aldrich in my R9 les paul and i love it, i had a jb in the same guitar and hated it and took it out after a week.

Exactly. The Aldrich also does away with the icepick of the JB.All of my guitars that had JB's now have Aldrich's and they are there to stay. That's how good they are.Let me also say they work great in different types of wood too.I have them in Mahogany,Ash and Alder guitars with killer results. And don't get me started on how great they split.

Thanks for your input! I just got a JB and it does not work for me. I guess I need a warmer pickup with smoother highs, and would like to try Suhrs. Any input on the comparison between the Aldrich and DSH+/SSH+ (or even DSH)?

Aldrich in my LP and they Smoke !!!!!!!!!!! and I will be putting them in my Wayne when it gets here. Great pickup in every guitar I have used it in. -Scott

I love the DSH+ in my Suhr. Good output but with lots of definition and a it gives my guitar a real chewy sound. Not overly bright, elastic mids and nice tight bass so it's a great humbucker in the bridge of guitars. It even gives a good tone split.

I had a DSH+ in a GMW and that pickup sounded FAT!! nice mids, like good scotch it was smooth.
