Well today I traded my Hagen for a Herbert ...

Long story short, Herbert n me 7 yrs nothing could touch it.
I sold it n thought Hagen did it. Although Hagen is really a kick ass amp (1year w hagen)it's has a totally different feel than Herbert. Ask Rayneman we did the trade.

Anyway. I found myself tweaking the Hagen n trying to tighten it up like Herbert. Can't its diff design. Herbert has this super fantastic feel as you play it. Like super tight n creamy. Like notes fall off the fretboard.
Got it home plugged n dialed it up thru my Diezel RL v30xk100 cab

Within minutes it was all right back were I remember. The tone I hear in my head just like the first time I heard a Herbert almost 10 yrs ago.

Tnx for trade Tim
Tnx Peter Diezel for creating Herbert !

Welcome back brutha.
Glad you & Tim got the deal done.
Sounds like he's happy with the Hagen...I'll go over this wekend to test drive it.

Yea. He wanted more loose more mids kinda rip. that's the Hagen. Great amp. But to each his own. Post your thoughts vs herb. Have fun!

I am glad you're digging it Chris.

I will miss that amp for sure, NO amp does the Herbert thing. Hagen definitely has the Diezel "vibe" that I now can recognize but is more on the crunchy/open side of things than Herbert. I can "feel" a little bit of the Diezel compression on the 3 and 4th channels but it stops short of Herbert with it. Two very different amps but yet still from the same "family."

I think his hands are full twisting knobs and holding a rocks glass of burbon...lol

<burp> what?

Wife and kids are asleep, I'm in my lair down in the basement. Can't go into the amp room and crank.

I must say that Herbert has more cool blue lights than the Hagen.

But Hagen can really be...you know, "none more black" like the "Smell the Glove" album cover by Spinal Tap, especially with the "inspired by Cujo" black knobs.

Hagen in stealth mode !

Or like Blackie Lawless sez "still not black enough"

I wish Herbert had a blk face.

Holy shit!!

WTF is happening around here?!?!?!

Glad you're happy... That's what matters most

Any questions ?

I've traded a Mesa Mk V for a new Hagen.
I now own both a new Hagen and an old Herbert.

I believe that my Herbert is getting old (more than 5 years). The tone on my volume 1 is a bit dull compare to volume 2 which is now more dynamic and "alive" than Vol1 (Herbie has been recently retubed). Maybe some people get rid of their amp because their amp is aging....

What do you think about aging amps ?

Lots of old Marshall out there all modded up n some not. You would have to ask Peter that question.
