he and eric gales are two of my favorite players at the moment. just insanely enjoyable to listen to when they are jamming off the cuff like this. so much soul and swing!
Timmons is in the same zone too.

Ian thornley is a great player and he can write better songs and throw down killer lead vocals to boot which kinda puts him in a league of his own!

I saw Doug, Gales, Greg Koch and Carl Verheyen back to back at NAMM and was ready to sell everything.

One of my absolute favorite players, wish he'd put out another album. Sometimes if I think I can play a little I watch his videos to remind myself I can't.

Awesome player. I want a Knaggs so bad because of this guy.

eric gales at 18 in this video, notice his brother also plays his bass upside down like eric and his guitar!!

Doug Rappaport is a MONSTER player, and has such great feel!!!

LOVE hearing him play! It's funny to me...all those dudes standing around, like watching someone change a tire   I would have been jumping and juking all over the room, knocking shit over, bumping into Doug whilst playing...then he'd a been like "...hey fool...chill ya' roll..."

I almost think he could fart and it would sound good. He's just got that something that makes his playing sound purely musical. Never sounds like effort

did'nt we just see this vid from a different angle?
Not that its not fantastic, it is

Indeed. And, indeed it is!

Sat on YouTube last night watching a bunch of Doug's videos, such a monster player..

Great player. He is a mix between playing modern techniques, and includes alot of the 70's player's feel. Perfect blend of generations. Seems his picking is that he can execute anything he wants to play. Watch some of those duals he does w/ Edgar Winter in Tobacco Road and YouTube.

The man could make a box of rocks sound like angels. Amazing talent!

he and gales have manly swing and swaggar and bulldozer confidence-of course landau too though not as shreddy.

ej is one of my all time faves and guthrie is a freak technically and another fave, both of whom have more talent in their toenail clippings than i will ever achieve, but to me they both have a weird frail white guy syndrome i.e. light in the natural soulful groove and vibrato department.

shawn lane had it all but like holdsworth a bit too advanced to create normal music.

for the record, i really like hearing andre nieri, tom quayle, rick graham, marco sfgoli, mateus asato, and al estrada burn

Love Doug's playing and I must be responsible for about half his YT views lol.
Ridiculously good player with a load of soul - Discovered him through my love of EJ playing but now trying to cop Doug's licks instead of Erics -)

Watch the Maxon YT clip of him playing (Loud albeit) through a DSL 100 (JCM 2000). It's in the hands guys (And volume!!).
Bought a smallbox but want a SS100 because of DR =)
