Peter/Duesentrieb,

I'm sorry to keep asking guys but time is running out. In my thread concerning the hum from my herbert, duesentrieb said that when i pull a pair of power tubes i need to plug my 8ohm cab into the 4ohm jack on the herbert. But, then in the 100/50w einstein thread peter said that halfing the impedence was
an old and wrong opinion.
. I'm in the studio in a few hours and if simply removing the tubes and putting them back in to see if they are just loose and causing hum doesn't work then i will see if running on 4 tubes is the answer. If so i really need need to get a definative answer on whether to half or not to half the impedence. I really dont want to damage my brand new herbert within a matter of weeks.

Any help will be appreciated.

Chris

Just spoke with Peter:

Pull a pair, keep the impedance.
Thats only for Diezel transformers though.

Peter has measured the currents for his amps with a pulled pair and suggests to keep it.

Awesome man!

Thanks for your time and your help. Pass my my regards onto peter for me aswell.

Chris
