So for a while I had been wondering why I was getting little to no sustain out of my EG5 module. Then I realized yesterday right after sound check. When I bought the VX from JKD, I out the stock tubes from my EG5 in the VX, and as a way to keep them safe, put the JJ 7571 and the other tube (not sure what it is right now) in the EG5 since I wasn't using it much at the time. I quickly did another tube swap from my T/D (stock tubes) to the JJ and other in the EG5. WOW! The T/D really smoothed out, and the EG5 came back to life. Since I'm not really in the habit of tube swapping, I didn't even consider this for a while. I know a lot of you guys are in to the tube upgrades and all, but for where I am right now, the stock Sovteks really get me what I need. Guess I've just got simple taste. :)

FWIW, I have JP5751 in V2 of my EG5 and I really like it there. Brings down the gain/compression just a bit so it sounds a little more open, less compressed.
