Dumb ?: Does the D in TD sound the same as the D in DD

Some say no. Some say yes.

I'd love to get Jeff or Bruce to give us the straight-talk on this though. I want an answer straight from the horse's mouth.

It sounds close yes. What I find better about the Twin or the DLX dual modules is they get better tones across both ChA and ChB. I always felt I made either A or B sound good on the T/D, but not both typically.

I think the DLX dual has a bit more spank and such than the D of the T/D.

Originally I bought a TD, but I sent it back to have it modded to a DD. I was having trouble getting the EQ right. With the EQ set nice for the Twin sound, the Deluxe sound on chB was way too bassy. And of course if you cut the bass for a better Deluxe sound, your Twin sound is now too thin. I found myself only using the Deluxe side, and spending $400 on DUAL module didn't seem to make much sense too me if only one channel was usuable.

Jeff sent me back a DD and I'm much happier now. Both channels are definitely more even. Granted both channels are more Deluxish, but I have a sooped-up Randall Blackface that I'm using for my Twin sounds.

This is exactly what I did too.
